Join us for the "Strings Attached" Concert at the High School Auditorium.
March 24th, 2010 at 7 PM. An evening of music and fun! Refreshments provided following this free event.
Orchestra and rock music generally don’t go hand in hand. We seem to think that there isn’t an obvious bridge between Bach and the Beatles. Whoever made these rules and norms about orchestra will not be in attendance to this concert. This event is about crossing over that bridge and seeing how music education isn’t just about studying and performing music by deceased men who wore white powdered wigs. On March 24th we’re going give Beethoven a break and focus on rock n roll in the orchestra. Students for the Saint Louis Park Orchestra will have opportunity to perform next to a professional folk-rock band, Odyc. The energy and passion that the students exhibit when performing in this different environment is sure to engage the audience. Come ready to listen to Odyc perform original works and covers by artists such as Johnny Cash, Coldplay, Beatles, and others. I guarantee you have never seen an orchestra concert quite like this. --
